Agricultural and pastoral production
  • The people in China began agricultural cities in about 2200 B.C.E.
  • The crops grown here were rice and other types of vegetables.
  • Up in the steppeland area, nomads were able to bring herds and feed them of the land.
Trade and Commerce
  • Metal was very valuable for the Chinese, thus they traded with whatever they had, to
  • obtain this precious metal. They also traded with obsidian and jade for crops or tools.
Labor Systems
  • Many Chinese were under the influence that the emperor was a son of a god.
  • Because of this idea, they worked hard to pay tribute to the emperor.
  • Many Chinese worked in the field, using tools that were constructed out of wood or
  • obsidian. With the introduction of metal, they were able to be more sufficient.
Industrialization
  • With the find of iron and copper ore, China was able to use them for their own needs.
  • Iron and Copper metallurgy was an extremely valuable trade.
  • With the introduction of iron and copper ore, the Chinese of this time were able to use it
  • for agricultural and warfare porpuses.
